Welcome to our Wayne County TN Historian blog! This blog allows for reader comments which are appreciated. Share your family stories and photographs with us, and ask questions.
Our office is staffed by dedicated volunteers to preserve the historical documents, journals, old tax records, census records, church records, death and obituaries, marriage records, school records from 1933 forward, court records, cemetery records, family histories, old newspapers as far back as 1890 on microfilm, old wills as far back as 1850 on microfilm, a few birth records, Bible records, tax records and miscellaneous records. One of the ways to preserve history is by writing about the people and places in your ancestory. See the third paragraph down.

Family Histories
We have a few surplus copies of Autobiography of B. E. Edwards written by Blueford E. Edwards and published in 1985. Mr. Edwards of Wayne County (1905-1990) was the son of Mark and Minnie Devers Edwards. He was born on Edwards Branch that flows into the Buffalo River near the Topsy community. Blueford married Judith Dickerson. If you are related to Mr. Blueford, you might want these interesting mementos.
Newspapers on microfilm
The 1/2 price sale on our well-researched publications continues. This is a great savings on a wonderful Christmas or birthday gift for a loved one who appreciates Wayne County history.
